1918 MLK — Office | 16,000 SF | Acquired 2018 | Redeveloped & Sold 2023

CRC acquired 1918 Martin Luther King Jr. Way in 2018 — a 16,000-square-foot office building near downtown Oakland — and redeveloped it comprehensively: new HVAC systems, new windows, ADA-compliant storefronts and restrooms, reconfigured floorplans, and rebuilt interiors. The result repositioned the building as a center suited for non-profit and program use.

The repositioning found its buyer in the public sector: CRC sold the building to a local public agency in 2023 for non-profit program use. A disposition to a government agency is its own discipline — public-sector acquisition standards, extended diligence, and approval processes that reward a well-documented, well-maintained asset — and the sale placed the building into long-term civic service.
