The Oakland Apartment Portfolio was the foundation of the platform on which CRC was built — eleven apartment buildings totaling 434 units, assembled by CRC's principals in the 2000s and concentrated in Oakland's established residential neighborhoods, from the streets around Lake Merritt to the East Oakland corridors.

CRC owned and operated the portfolio through its era as the firm's core holding: hands-on management, building-by-building capital improvement, and the operational discipline that comes only from running hundreds of units in one market. Dispositions were executed patiently across the 2010s as each building reached its moment — with the final asset held and operated until 2025. A quarter century of ownership, concluded on the platform's own timing.
