Beginning in 2009, CRC built a single-family rental platform in Oakland — acquiring roughly 150 homes through three sponsored investment funds. The strategy was disciplined and repeatable: acquire well-located houses, renovate to a consistent standard, lease to long-term residents, and operate at portfolio scale.

CRC executed every layer in-house — sourcing and underwriting each acquisition, managing renovations, leasing, and operating the stabilized portfolio — and then executed the exit with the same discipline, selling through the strength of the 2021–2022 market and concluding final dispositions in 2025. Every home in the program was acquired, renovated, operated, and sold — the full cycle, completed.
