1888 MLK — Ground-Up Modular Development | 88 Units | Completed 2024
CRC developed 1888 Martin Luther King Jr. Way from the ground up — an 88-unit multifamily community at the edge of downtown Oakland, delivered through volumetric modular construction. CRC led the project through its full arc: land acquisition, entitlement, design, factory coordination, and on-site execution, pairing off-site fabrication with conventional site work.
CRC continues to own and operate the community today. As both developer and operator, CRC underwrote 1888 MLK not for delivery, but for the decades after — a building designed to be held.
