Fruitvale Gateway — Acquired 2018 | Sold 2025 | Retained Management
CRC acquired the Fruitvale Gateway Building and its adjoining land in 2018 — a combined holding anchoring a block of International Boulevard in the heart of Oakland's Fruitvale district. CRC repositioned and operated the office building while unlocking the balance of the site: subdividing the adjacent parcel at 2610 International Blvd and initiating its design for multifamily housing, now approved for 100 affordable homes.
CRC sold the building in 2025 — and was retained by the new ownership as property manager, a role it continues today. Few endorsements of an operator carry more weight than a buyer who, with every option available, chose to keep the seller running the building.
