Being located in an area of primary historical importance amongst 1880s-era Victorians, special consideration was given to the design aesthetic of this project, which required approval from the Landmarks Board of the City of Oakland. A similar concept to 1888 MLK, each of the ten studios in 623 15th Street was planned to be equipped with a full kitchen, pots and pans, in-unit laundry, air conditioning, built in couch, bed, and storage, and wired for multiple internet service providers, cable, and telephone. The building would also provide smart building access systems and bicycle parking.
